It was strictly Marine. The nice thing about it is it allows the soldier in the prone position to be very low. The double (M14
) Universal Pouch the Army does not work as well.
There is a special ammo belt for that pouch which has about 7 or 8 snaps around it to store the pouches. Notice there are two snaps on each pouch. That allows those in combat to carry the pouch upside down.

I have one of those belts that's fairily new and always wondered what the application was.

Ever notice how some M14
magazines have that smooth blue black color

13 snaps: OK I never counted them. I have seen a lot of regular sized belts and only one large. I assume the large betl has more snaps.
BTW large pistol belts are always scarcer than regular.
I have seen a variety of finishes and colors on GI M14
magazines. New, used, refinished; you name it.
I do not know understand the post.
