M1892 St Etienne
Hello, I'm new to the forum.
I have a model M1892 St Etienne M1892, with "MAS1893" on the right side of the barrel. This carbine has not been converted to the 8mm Mauser round.

8mm Lebel French carbine. I am not aware of any being converted to 8mm Mauser. Some converted to 7.5mm French cartridge. The Turks had many and converted some rifles to carbine length.

The Germans converted some rifles after they occupied the countries that had previously owned them, but you have a Berthier Carbine, by the way it is described, and I doubt that the Germans even thought about converting the ones they captured to the 8 X 57mm cartridge. It simply would not have been worth it, and it would have been very difficult from a technical standpoint...even for them.
