    New (to me) Type 99

Just picked up a Type 99. Has untouched mum, bipod, and aircraft sights. Decent bore, just needs to be cleaned. All in pretty good, just had a few questions.
It looks like someone took a wire wheel to some of the metal parts, but not all. There are several places like the band just behind the front site and the dust cover where there are small gouges are indicitive of a wire wheel. I have no idea if there was heavy rust, but the lack of pitting makes me think someone just tried to clean it up needlessly. Additionally, the stock looks to have been sanded lightly. There's still some discoloration and nicks and such. Were there any stamps/factory marks like in American surplus rifles?
I'll post some pictures to help illustrate what I talked about above. Let me know if you need more pictures to help tell the story of this old war horse.

It looks like an early Type 99, that's all I can tell you for the moment. Can you post some more detailed pictures of rear sling swivel, buttplate, rear band, recoil bolt, rear sights, bolt, safety knob, the serial number and arsenal markings?

It is an early Type 99, series 4 (serial number 10.000 - 99.999) made at the Nagoya arsenal with all the correct features. Early plumb shaped bolt, early rear sight with anti-aircraft wings, early knurled safety knob, early three-screw front band, early front sight guards, correct two-screw rear swivel, correct rear band, correct wide cupped metal buttplate.
