Round Carbine Bolt
I have a round bolt with a X about 1.125" behind the front and what appears to be a J (maybe P) on the left lug. I am not finding any data to indicate the mfg. Any ideas?

Auto Ordnance for IBM, the X indicates the bolt does not have all the design changes incorporated into the round bolt design.

Is the marking a P or J for Auto Ordnance?

It is the remnants of AOB.

The AOB would be on the right lug and is stamped upside down. Sometimes it is very faint and if the bolt has been refinished, you might not be able to see it.
On the left lug, later bolts have an "H", but the earlier ones may have some non standard mark, like W7 or VM. There is almost always a letter below the left lug.
What you really need to do is post a photo of the marking.
