Savage 720

I have a savage 720 12 gauge that I am fixing up. It was missing the firing pin and spring so I ordered parts. I could't get it to stay in place so I figured something else was up? Breech blocks in scemadics show a solid block with a hole in it for the pin to go into and keeper from side to hold it in. Mine appears to be missing a small block that fits into breech block and is held in place with firing pin keeper. Does anybody know if this is true and if part is availible somewhere. Great firearm but missing one less part than when I started, can't wait to try it out. Thanks
