    The power of water

Thoughts are with those thousands of families that have lost their homes over Christmas which shows just how devastating the power of water can be.

Saw lots of heroic acts by emergency services yesterday, including the completely submerged Landrover with only its roof above water and the loan untethered rescuer gaining that super strength to open the flush glass sunroof from outside and lift the elderly gentleman out from inside saving his life as the vehicle was washed away, without a care for his own safety.

I served for 15 years on the Police Underwater Search & Recovery Unit, so know only to well the power of unpredicatable water, but this happening in the UKicon at the moment is something else......unbelievable and relentless, and I have never seen such devastation. Non stop rain over 2 weeks, washing history down the pan as the rivers rise.
Great to see the PM chairing an emergency meeting over it, but sadly not even 1000 Army lads can hold back the power of water!!
Wish them all, all the luck in the world.
