A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. They aren't wearing helmets. The ones with the nets have the same hat as the one without the net getting a light.

I just think it's some form of enemy force on exercise. That's typically how we would dress our enemy force. Something recognizable but different from the main force.

Op-For. I agree those are shots during training exercises. The hats are call Daisy-Mays I think.

Spot on Bill..Daisy Maes they are indeed...and those look like like the one piece issue suit..rather than the 2 piece suits.
