Stevens 520-30 serial info.
can anyone date a Stevens 520-30, serial 49776? It is military marked and has a Viet Nam Stevens M77E heatshield.

While the range of these run from 38,000 to about 70,000 , most are found between the upper 50,000 to upper 70,000 range. So , about all that can be said is that yours is early. My 60434 was dated by Bruce to 1943 .

PS , The correct Shield would be the S style without the "S" stamp .

Anyone have a WW II Stevens heat shield? Don't want to go the REPo route unless.

Good luck on that one. Unfortunately they are pretty scarce and when you do find them they can cost as much as a gun without one. My advice would be to check the usual haunts: eBay, and the gun auction websites as well as the forums. It took me nearly three years to finally find a couple of them. Hope you have better luck than I did!
