A family that I know bought a house and when cleaning and painting found this in a cubby hole by the fire place. They know of my interest in military guns and gave it to me. it had been "Sporterized", barrel and stock shortened and a new front sight dovetailed in. Thought it would be a good winter project making it into a Mod. 38 carbine.

That's great. Now I'm going to have to start checking cubbyholes in old houses. Looking forward to seeing it when it's done.
Some guys have all the luck!
