Is this a refinished/sanded Carcano?
Im looking at this Carcano rifle and it looks very nice but i want to make sure its not sanded and refinished by a previous owner. What do you guys think?

Crappy photos but it does not look refinished from what they show.

To me it looks ok. Pretty much like mine, just a bit darker maybe.

Well the reason i ask if its sanded is because the serial numbers and cartouche look somewhat faded. Perhaps it was sanded at the italian arsenal when it was rebuilt? Is that common for Carcano rifles?

That's how mine looks like. Actually bit better, but I wouldn't know if mine is an exception or if yours is.

It's a surplus military rifle. It's been around the block more times then Suzie Q. It appears to be normal wear and tear of a wood stock.

Stocks were sanded at the Italian arsenals. They were swapped, renumbered etc sometimes during refurbishments. It does not appear to be the case with your example. It looks original.

We're Refurbed Carcano's ever given mismatching stocks without being renumbered?
