Handy Garand tip of the Week - Gas Cylinder Lock
Ok so you have found a gas cylinder lock that is hand tight at 5:00 O’clock - now what?
Getting the lock over to that final position – this can help
Also this tool will aid on getting that new gas cylinder on that new barrel with out over travel associated with tapping it on.
Step 1 - Basic shape made out of wood - Chechen

Step 2 & 3
Step 2 - open area around the two holes larger such that a gas cylinder lock will easily fit in opening with some clearance
Step 3 – use a high hump gas cylinder lock, apply release agent (may also want to clay the holes) place inside enlarged opening – fill gap between the lock and the handle with steel bed.

Neat idea.
No stress on the barrel while tightening the lock.
No scratches either.
