Could long branch rifle serial number 45L1151 be a real sniper?

Any distinguishing marks or features that I should look for to determine authenticity? Was the scope number stamped on the wrist etc?

I looked at the sniper that you are looking at on used guns and it looks legit !!! but it does not have a T or the TR marking the pads look like originals that were fitted by a factory as they are staked ,,, I was going to buy it but I already have a mint English No4 T,,, and the scope needs a clean as it's slightly cloudy

I got some better photos from the owner of this one, rear sight is missing. The pads dont look like they are staked but the photos arent the best. I have seen a few genuines lately that look the same?

Early Canadian pads were not stamped.
The punch marks on the early kit was done by the British.
The British were not happy with a few things we did but then we were new at the game...sniper wise.

A 1943 dated Long Branch sniper should not have a T or TR.

To answer the OP, yes, it could be a real LB "T".

I would want to see pictures of the pads and a few other things.

As warren has pointed out more than once, sometimes the naysayers don't know what they are talking about, and sometimes they want it themselves.

Having said that I would want to have some detailed photos of the rifle and (if matching) LB scope mount before putting the money down.

And unlike a lot of the people (even on here) who typically say things like "it isn't/can't be real" I actually have some Long Branch snipers.

this one does not have a number stamped on the wrist it looks like a standard no4 except for the pads, anyway that's what I saw when it was offered to me

This one turned out not to be a long branch sniper after all. The seller realised his misdescription and notified me. Full marks for his honesty.
