    Strange barrel marking

A friend of mine is looking at a Danishicon import Breda M1icon Rifle in Canadaicon that has a barrel with the following marking, CHE002116, on the side of the barrel in the usual place. This is the only marking present and it's engraved, not stamped. Can anyone ID the manufacturer of the barrel? Swissicon manufacture has been mentioned. I didn't know that the Swiss produced Garand barrels if that's the case unless it's a commercial replacement. Any thoughts? Thanks.
