Not Khyber Pass at all, these have been talked about before on this forum and others. I think they are an Indian modification with a No.4 type sight, they cut a slot in the base to allow he bolt head to be removed.

I'm not sure that those Khyber tribesmen engaged a lot of small bore/.22" rifle practice. Mind you, now that I think about it, I'm not sure that they did/do a lot of full bore rifle practice either judging from our standard post-op debriefing of those newly returned from 'those places'

RFI No.2Mk.IV/IV* conversions are legit and interesting. I sold one last year that had a two groove barrel. The first I'd ever seen.

Looks like a National Rifle Factory receiver. These Indian sight conversions have been little documented. Obviously they needed something to approximate the sighting on their SLRs.
