    Question M 17 P 14 scabbard

    What does the scabbard for the M17 bayonet look like and the P14 as well ,i picked up a P14 bayonet that fits my M17 but the scabbard is wrong

    I believe the p14 scabbard is the same a the P1907 scabbard. The only way I can describe the P17 scabbard is that it has that wire hanging "thingy" on it as shown below.

    neils photo shows the second version , the first had a leather 'tab' on a stud in the back with the wire ,
    the third version was like the M3 fiberglass with a longer throat section , it was produced in WWII and again later durring VN

    the bottom one is typical P1907/P1914 with a webb frog
