I Opened A Box Of XM162 Ammo

I picked up a couple of boxes of XM162 today. They were in better shape than the one I already had, so I decided to open that one up. There was a box, as I fgured their would be, inside the vapor barrier wrapper. Inside the box, I found what look to be standard Winchester-Western Super X OOB. The date on the wrapper looks like JAN.-68. The rounds do look good in my Vietnam era pouch.

Good find Greg, even the Vietnam era shells are getting harder to find.
A couple of questions for the field on these:
Does anyone know about when WCC stopped useing the box with the folding top with tongue and went to the glued box with perforation down the middle? I know WCC started with folding top and switched somewhere between lot nos. 6008 (with folding top) and lot and lot 6019 (with perforation). I've also noticed all the Federal XM162 is of the perforated box and all Remington has the folding top with tongue. Anyone have examples of these boxes with differing construction?
Also I've often wondered about the closeing wad/crimp on the XM162. All shells from all three mfgs. seem to be like the ones as in Gregs pics. What is this closeing called and was it standard in comercial and military shells? Anyone know when this was changed to the present day crimp? All XM257 #4B, and XM258 Flechettes I've seen are of the present day crimp.
