I've been watching these same items on GB. I could only wish someone could come up with the Enfield version of the 03A4 that is being sold for around a grand... Could this be a viable commercial opportunity?

Only if you could purchase it and resell it. Presonally I cannot. Have this problem with getting attached to one once I buy it. I consider myself a steward of what I collect.

That last rifle is mine. Not having the reserve price met gives me the opportunity to take it down to my neighbors 100 yard range to see how it groups. I'll also take the opportunity to adjust the sights to bring the group on center of target. I've been wanting to do that for some time now, but just haven't gotten around to it. My eye's aren't too bad, 20/40 or so, but by looking through the various peep sight apertures, I find that everything appears sharp again, like when I was young. So...who knows? Maybe this rifle is just the ticket for getting me back to the shooting bench!

I think a "Gibbs" type Enfield Sniper reproduction would probably be a smash hit with shooters. Would be cool if it came with a repro transit case too!

Century Arms did a run of No.4 T clones sans scope and kit 3-4 years ago. Did'nt take them long to sell out.

The trouble with the kits, if it's anything like the kits that I saw fitted some years ago, is that they were just 'screwed-on'! I say 'screwed-on' when I should be saying 'screwed-up'. They'd been fitted without any thought. That's one of the reasons I told the form how to do it properly. I saw one while I was at a small competition and the bloke could only get about 8 minutes left deflection. The job was a complete sack of shxxx. That's an Army phrase that you might not have heard in the delicate climes of civillian life. It indicates '.........a degree of cack-handidness with the hammer and drill me old chum'.

THere were two sequels to the tale, The first was that he told me that it was all original and the second was that even if he'd stripped it all down and started again, he'd ruined the rifle body with his cack-handed use of whatever he'd used to drill the holes. It didn't look like he'd used anything that I recognise as a twist drill!
