Welp, I bit off, now I gotta figure out how to chew it
Hey all,
Long time reader, first-time poster. Recently bit on a MK3 kit from Sarco. I’ve been keeping an eye out for used jigs out on Gun Broker and other sites, haven’t seen much of anything. The only new jig I see readily available is from Cajun Country Arms, which also claims to make a semi-auto parts kit (which is presently out of stock). I was wondering if any of you folks might know of better contacts for these parts.

His BREN jig is not the best and his semi-auto kit is not good at all . You can purchase a semi-auto firing from Firingpins.com that is correct . The Jig he sells is hit and miss . Are you a member of the Weapons Guild web site ? Log on and study their Bren Gun build section before you go over board on your build . Do you have any welding knowledge ? Weapons Guild has jigs that you can barrow for your build .

I am not yet a member of the Weapons Guild. But I have a feeling that I soon will...…..
As for welding knowledge, I think I have that handled. I have a couple different TIG machines at my disposal, and about 20 years of welding experience. The part I have to reach out for favors is the machining end of things. I have knowledge and experience there, I just don't own any equipment. Otherwise, I'd mfg the parts myself.
I have been contemplating building my own jig out of different pieces of barstock.
Thanks for your information and advice. I will put it to good use.
Got started cleaning slag and cleaning up some of the joints tonight after moving snow. Sizing up what I've got, and what I will need. The kit I got has a nasty cut diagonal through the very front corner in front of the mag well and going down through the barrel nut forward boss, obliterating the top corner between the barrel nut recess and mag well. It also got sliced right through the rear pin hole at the back of the receiver. Not insurmountable, just more work and fiddling to get it back. And filler rod. Lots of filler rod. Might have to find some donor material....
I enjoy reading through all of this group's (semi Bren) posts. There are a lot of lessons learned in there.

Any progress on your build? Did you find a decent jig?
