German police M1 carbine
This will be long. I snagged a NPM 4215987 with an IBM undated barrel today. The op slide, trigger assembly, bolt, handguard and stock all have the last four digits of the SN#. The left side of receiver has a small neatly stamped JOHN NETTLING just above the woodline..but under the wood is a lightly EP'd Century Arms St. Albans import mark. athere is some slight discoloration along the top of left receiver rail and some "ghost letters" but I cannot see well enough to determine if they read "BAVARIAN " etc. The M1 carbine info on top of reciever has been removed with just the "ine" "M1" remaining. The condition of the rifle is like new..black oxide finish. Now for the lesser details;
Front sight- NS SN and 65 in oval.
Bayo lug/swivel-Q
Rear sight is peep-S and the sight base has the parallel grooves.
Stock is walnut with boxed NPM FJA cartouche. 5987 TN stamped in sling well.
Trigger assembly-N16, 5987.
Hammer-NH
Mag release-NS
Push button safety.
Bolt blued flat top-N-14
Opslide- DA Q and 5987
Hand guard-walnut 2 rivet, 5987
Recoil block- .U.
Mag-LU blued.
There is no soot, dirt, grime or grease in this rifle. The bore is like a mirror. I snagged it today for $550.
