    Tight chamber - M1 Garand

Just picked up a CMPicon Garandicon. Have not shot it yet but tried some spent casings and can tell the rounds are pretty tight and will not seat into chamber easily. I know spent brass expands, however even spent rounds slide right into my match grade Garand w/ a Kreiger barrel.

Good looking rifle there. Just offhand, I'd say take it to the range see how her actions flows. It's entirely possible that your other rifle is just fractionally larger in the chamber. Doesn't take much to get the effect that you describe. I've seen similar differences on other calibers (namely my roommate's AK compared to my SKS), and so far haven't seen any real issue operationally.

You could always get a local smith to double check the headspace too if need be.

No, it'll be fine. Spent brass shouldn't interchange.

Was there not a report here a while ago about some new , therefore short chambered , rebbl'ed Garands being released without having been headspaced? This may be the case here. Pull the rifle down then see how the bolt will close ( gently , by hand pressure only , stripped bolt ) on a go gauge. Lacking one of those , try a round of your ammo . I'd pull the bullet and dump the powder first to be safe , but if chambering by hand with a stripped bolt , the danger of an AD is slight , but still present.

The spent casings are expanded to the dimensions of the chamber they were fired in.
If your other chamber is slightly smaller you will get this. Check with an unfired case
or a go/no go gauge & stripped bolt. I think you will be fine.
