Mark in Rochester....I just been getting into M1 Garands and havent been through ALL of the other postings, I just saw this on the USMC Website and Posted it here.Sorry for the Re-Post, but im not reposting from this Site. Thanks for the Story though. This won't probably be my last re-post, You guys have been doing this a long time.

Perhaps one instance where it was good to be on the sharp end. Odds of survival higher than the one holding the rifle.

Mark, There sure are....I been looking, but when I post a picture here then pick up were I left off I see it later, but must have missed the last couple. I really like the stories and details you add. What Marine does not like details. There some Great pics on the USMC Forums, but I usually hang out with the Battalion I served in.

It's definitely a staged photo. The paratrooper has already knicked the German's water bottle and bayonet which are visible just below his jump smock hem. The rest of the German's kit appears to be dumped on the ground between them.
