BFG, Big Friendly Giant Movie
Big Friendly Giant, A walt Disney childrens film by Roald Dahl (SP?) has a few scenes in it where soldiers are carrying FAL's some with wood furniture. Kind of strange for a Disney film. Kinda cool show of force with FAL's .
Alot of people dont know that Mr Dahl was a fighter pilot in WWII and flew Hurricanes in N Africa and Malta and was an Ace(?) and wounded too.
He was a successfull author of childrens books, many of them I read my self as a child and read to my students in my class room. too.

He was a brave and talented pilot. I loved his books too. I think James and the Giant Peach was my favorite. Some of my favorite teachers were WWII veterans. Along with Grandfathers and Uncles, mine and my friends. Some from both sides. If they were willing, I would listen to their stories. I lifted this from Wikki on Mr Dahl. On 20 April 1941, Dahl took part in the "Battle of Athens", alongside the highest-scoring British Commonwealth ace of World War II, Pat Pattle, and Dahl's friend David Coke. Of 12 Hurricanes involved, five were shot down and four of their pilots killed, including Pattle. Greek observers on the ground counted 22 German aircraft downed, but because of the confusion of the aerial engagement, none of the pilots knew which aircraft they had shot down. Dahl described it as "an endless blur of enemy fighters whizzing towards me from every side.
