Wow, nice shorty there. I'm new here, this is post one for me. I'm an American, and as such I know just about nothing about Canadian gun laws, so I was really surprised that you could make a short barreled rifle without going through the rigamarole we have to go through down here. Anyways, what brought me to this site was that I'm planning to build a retro carbine and I'm looking for information about whether or not it matters what color my delta ring is. I see that yours is black, I've seen some gray ones on rifles that have gray receivers, and I've even seen some black rings with gray receivers, so I'm guessing it's not that big of a point of contention, although I'd probably get some funny looks if I had a gray one on a black receiver...
I'm curious, did the front sight base change over well? Sometimes they lean to one side when using another base as the pin holes are drilled after the sight is located...

Yes, our registration is such that you can have short barreled guns and they register the same as a handgun.
