The X most likely makes it a AOB round bolt for IBM. It simply designates that the bolt doesn't have the most recent design changes milled into it. I have seen where X means something totally different on some earlier flat bolts, but I am not touching that one.

    Hi Mikey....

I have notes here from a Add listed Jan 2012.
Import marked Inland Hand Stamped (I).
Bolt was a Round With the same style/size/location of the X stamps often found on the AOB bolts, Aprox: 1/2" behind the Right lug.
But this Round Bolt was marked EM-Q.
    Serial Number Was.... 6,695,xxx

I've seen Inland bolts with the X on the outer Right Lug,
Like this one marked OI 2 on auction:
WWII M1 Carbine USGI Inland Round Bolt Stripped N O s Unissued | eBay

IIRC CC Newsletter 206 (?) had info about the AOB X marked Round Bolts.

    Cheers Buddy,
