    NM AR-15 69 SMK Load ?

I still have about 2000 69gr SMK's I had worked up to and used Varget 24.5 grs. Does anybody know what the FPS. on this load is around.
I want to try working and testing Reloader 15 for the same 69gr SMK I see most guys ran around 24.5 - 25 grs. I know start low and work up but any idea of FPS on 24.5- 25 of RL 15 ? Thanks

25.5 gr Varget (my match load with the 69 gr MK) runs 2745 fps (20 shot string) out of my Colt Comp with 9" twist. 24.5 gr will probably be 100+ fps or so slower.

My 20"HBAR 1/9: 68gr HornadyHPBT/Varget/24.4/BR4/WWCase*/OAL2.265" chronographs at 2,622fps. What barrel length will your (Weez556) 69SMK/Varget/24.5gr loads run out of?

For reference, QUICKLOAD predicts the exact same velocity for 24.5gr RL-15 as 24.5gr Varget, all other conditions being the same, and ~5% lower pressure.

*(31.5gr Water -- Mil/RP cases would result in faster/higher pressures)

    I have a RRA NM with a 1:7 Kreiger barrel. I use:

    25 gr Varget
    CCI sr primers
    WW brass
    69 SMK loaded mag length.

My last 10 shot string over the chrony @ 10 ft follows:

    Lo 2875
    Hi 2923
    Av 2897
    Es 47.93
    Sd 17.49

The hi one @ 2923 may well have been an anomoly as the other three shots above 2900 were within 16 fps of that threshold. Still it should give you an idea.

    Good luck
