sharps borchardt 1878 45/70 military rifle version

    Hej milsurpers
the old reliable has serial 88xx and is in perfect condition ,just some dings in the walnut
the action has is original jaspage (marble colour ) other parts are blued or better blackened
except the buttplate and ramrod ,underside of barrel is marked with 4 L's , BL or LB in circle on buttstock , small circle in front of rear swivel
rearsight is type 2 barnes like on some trapdoors , remington lee's and chaffee reeces
reloaded with 22 gn N110 Vihta and 350 gn haendle&natermann bullets ,gave me nice groups at 100 meters due to the fine triggerpull and the mirror blanc bore dispite my 71 year old eyes
just looking for a correct " militia socket "bayonet and fishhook type replica sling
    geetings from over the pond

Have had a couple or three over the years. Nice rifles. Unfortunately, the US BPCR crowd has little use for 'em because they don't have a hammer, exposed or otherwise!

    Jarman,

I don't know about the "crowd" but I would love to have one. The Borchardt is a rare bird, especially in original condition. So, how did a Sharps in 45/70 end up in the Netherlands? there has to be a story there.
