M1903A3 - Rear sight dovetail damage?

I recently came into possession of a Remington M1903A3 and removed the Lyman 57SME rear sight. I uncovered what appears to be slight damage to the "blades" on the dovetail (see picture).

I'm planning to replace the Lyman target sights with reproduction 03A3 sights from Sarco or an original Remington aperture. My question is, would the damage pictured affect the sight installation or use (elevation/windage adjustment) in any way? If so, how might one remedy it, if at all?

I think he's refering to the idiot taking it off who forgot to loosen the set screw or remove the stake , damaging the three spines in front. Should not be a problem unless you're planning on bashing a few huns in the helmet with your rear sight . If you feel the replacement goes on loose , just use some locktite on it to firm it up or use a punch to lightly displace some metal for a firm fit.

maybe touch them up with a small v-file. but they shouldn't cause trouble.
