An old Winchester 1890 Deluxe in 22 WRF

Long time ago my wife found this rifle in an old garage, she saved it for me. It was a Winchester 1890 pump action in 22 WRF, bore was good too. All complete and working except the take down screw was broken off, got another from Homestead, just as well that it could not be taken apart until now.

It is not common to find a 1890 Deluxe with a special folding front sight, rear tang, checkered pistol grip on a fancy grain stock. Winchester pistol grip cap too. I believe the receiver was case colored when manufactured in 1900. I was told to hve it restored but decided to leave it alone, also not common to find the 22 WRF cartridges.

I was able to take a nice photo of the stock with the morning sunshine.

Outstanding! You'd be a fool to touch that rifle at all it's beautiful as is. I don't know if you can't see it in person but the receivers case hardening comes through in the photo just fine. Beautiful wood too.

I will not have it refinished as I think it should remain original, That special front sight is quite rare to find

A friend who has been collecting deluxe Winchester firearms for many years told me there were only 620 deluxe 1890
rifles on case colored receivers for the second model. mine is the second model from June 1900
