Chilean 1895: How to remove band springs?

I am working on an 1895 Chilean short rifle mauser and need to remove the band springs. Do you just drive them out? I don't want to take them out and then not be able to get them back in. I need to remove them to re-blue them. I could do it with them still in the stock, but I rather remove them and do a better job if I can.

Got brave and drifted them out. Now I hope they will go back in and stay when I am done.
