    Book about warfare.

"Carnage and Culure: Landmark Battles in the rise of Western Power".
    By Victor Davis Hanson.
    Printed, 2001

    ISBN 0 385 50052 1

This book considers the question "Whay have Western Values Triumphed? Why are western ideas and practices spreading unopposed across the globe?"
It is a singular fact that, with few exceptions, western military might has always triumphed over any force that has opposed it.

This book examines nine important confrontations between the west and nonwestern forces from Salamis in 480 BC to the Tet Offensive in1968.
Basically in all comes down to the west's knack for killing! Indeed, the author go's onto state that the most lethal opponent for a western army is another western army!

I am still in the process of reading this book but it is really a interesting read and I recommend it to you!

So I can't spell, so what!!!
Those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it.

Be polite. Be professional. But, have a plan to kill everyone you meet.

Haven't read this but do read his columns regularly, and have read his "Who Killed Homer". He is excellent.
