You'd think that anything published by CMP would be the straight stuff, wouldn't you? This guy 'Steve' is very emphatic in defending this article, but nonetheless some of it is just wrong. We tangled on this several times on the old original forum a few years ago.

'Steve' seems to be the only one willing to research and post info there.
All-in-all, he's done a good job.
Some of his stuff might be questionable, but he seems to be the only one there providing info to the masses.

I think there's some really good information there. It dis-spells a lot of bad information that is passed around as gospel.

I used the article to clean up my RMC highwood, and developed the cartouches rubbing in warm BLO. It really worked well on mine.

Inland44, we would really appreciate it if you would offer your alternate opinions on a case by case basis concerning Steve's statements. That's the only way we'll be able to make our own decisions as to whose advice to try.
We respect the opinions of both of you. We just need to know where you differ.
