No 4 Bolt and Bolt Head
Finishing up a No 4 and all I have left is the bolt. The bolt it came with is mismatched S/N and is worn to point it is in the white. Also has a lightning hole drilled on it like a No 5 but this is possibly correct. Got a bolt body from Century with no S/N. When reassembling it the bolt head needs to rotate about 10 to 15 degrees to match up with the bolt body. I can unscrew it about 90 degrees and the bolt will slide into the receiver.
When in this position and when the trigger is pulled it moves in its space. I was reading that Enfield No bolt headscame in different lengths to facilitate proper headspace. Guess I am stuck with original bolt body. Any suggestions? Thanks. Jim
