K 31 in France?
Was at one of the shops I visit yesterday. The owner brought out a K31 that he had traded for. It looked un-issued. When I asked him about the name tag under the butt plate it was news to him. We removed the plate. There was no tag, but there was a name and address written on the stock. When we did a search for the translation it came back as a suburb of PARIS?
The first name was Pierre. Don't remember the last. Could this just be one a Frenchman bought?

As a child, I was told I was Dutch from my father's side. As I got older, I realized I was actually Pennsylvania Dutch which is German. After doing some research on Ancestry.com, I confirmed that I was actually PA Dutch and that my family originally settled where I currently live, a place I moved to when I got married and 100+ miles from my birth place. The very town in fact by my 7th Great Grandfather. Going back just two more generations, I learned that I was not German German but Swiss German and they came here to avoid religious persecution, they were protestants. This was in the mid 1700's. Now my mothers side is completely different, English, Norman, Saxon, Welsh, Scottish, Viking. They also got here a little later in the late 1700's. I had always assumed the family came here in the great immigration waves in the late 1800's due to my grandmother speaking with a touch of an accent. But they were originally Mennonites. Had a few decisions not been made way back whenever, I could be riding in a horse and buggy right now in good old Lancaster County. It's rather weird because I had a natural affinity for this town that I'm living in and fell in love with Swiss rifles right off the bat. And this before I had a hint of a clue about my true ancestry. Might be something to that DNA memory the talk about.

Well as a different note, many years back I had my blood typed, something about school offering a free test.
It came back B-, ok with me but the Nurse is looking at me and, you don't look Asian!
It turns out that B Neg is far more prevalent in Asia and particularly Mongolian. Hmmm, ok, long sweep of history.
I am the only one in the family that has it.

While type B+ blood is more common among Asians, - blood of any type is very rare among Asians so your nurse was only half right.
I am type A+, my wife O+, daughter 1 A+, daughter 2 A-. A and B types are dominant over O. rH+ is dominant over rH- so it is possible to have children of different blood types which is what happened with my kids. My wife is obviously O+/O-, I'm a little tricker. Could be A+/A- or A+/O- or some other combination of the two. Odds are I'm A+A-. All three can donate to me and daughter 1, no one can donate to my wife or daughter 2. And an rH+ mother can give birth to one rH- child but must have medical attention immediately or her body will kill any second rH- child. Their blood gets mixed during the birth process and the mother develops anti-bodies against the rH- factor. Oddly enough, the blood type has no impact.
