Any info on the narrow or wide magazine wall on the type2 Rock-ola trigger housing? Mine has the rear bevel, narrow mag. wall and no front bevel, is it a type2?

Not Brain but what you discribe is a type 2 housing. Rock-Ola used the type 2through the first block of serial numbers and into the second before switching over to the type 4 housing. hth

The trigger housing types we use today was never an ordnance specification and they don’t take into account all the different design differences of the various trigger housings. The rear wall width being one of the differences not considered in the Type scheme. So if your TH has rear bevels and no front bevel it would fall into the type II category.

If you take a look at several NPM trigger housings you’ll see they are virtually all the same except for the revision number on them. Whether a feature like the bevels on the rear was changed by Ordnance Dept specification or was simply a reduction of an unnecessary machining step that propagated throughout TH manufactures is not known but by looking at NPM THs its plain to see not all manufacturers eliminated the bevels.

The rear wall width may have also been the result of speeding up production that was eventually found to be necessary, at least on the left side.

Thanks Brian, Bruce and Loren for the info. I never thought to much about the narrow or wide mag. walls. I have it for sale and the question was raised about Riesch's book saying on T2 TH's the mag wall was increased to 0.95.
