    Rear Sight Identification

Hello all. I am trying to identify the maker of the rear sights on my SA Garandicon. The rifle was made during the summer of 1944 and has the locking bar type. I'm trying to get all Springfield parts on it and just trying to figure out if the sights are. Thank you

rear sight locking bar second tye on April 1944 rifle

Most rifles still were using the second type lock bar by mid 1944

the stamped trigger guard was also being used but so was the milled trigger guradAttachment 74307

I think he's asking if his parts are made by a specific manufacturer?

Thanks guys. My rifle appears to have the Type 2 sights. What I would like to know is if there is a way to tell which manufacturer (Springfield, WRA, etc) made them. I will take pics when I get home later on today

Generally Winchester has an open arrow head and Springfield a closed arrow head. Very early Springfield used an open arrow head I believe.

    Winchester

    Springfield

    rear sights

    Attachment 74332Attachment 74333Attachment 74334

left: very early Winchester and Springfield (from WRA 100931)

    middle: Winchester

    far right: very early Springfield

late knurled knobs with open arrows should be Winchester
