Carbine match preparation

Other than praying for divine intervention, and paying attention to CMP's suggestions for accurizing a Carbine, does anyone have any suggestions?

Yes, if a 100yd match then practice at 100yds.
Same for 200yd match, practice, practice.

Your two suggestions are useful. The CMP thread has alot of good information.

I shoot about eight carbine matches a year. Before each match I check the recoil plate screw and barrel band screw for proper tightness. I always take my sighting rounds. I have found temp and humidity can cause windage and elevation changes on my carbine. Even at 100yds which is the range for our matches. Last winter we fired when the temp was down to 5 degrees. Everyone's rounds impacted lower then normal!

After each match I clean the bore, chamber, and face of bolt, but do not dissasemble. Oil as needed. Once a year I strip the gun and detail clean.

I do win sometimes.

detail the bolt. Make certain the ejector assembly is clean and lightly lube, the extractor assembly is the same with plunger in proper orientation.

Do the full tight barrel band then loosen to see if group changes size.

THEN have fun at match.

Any practice firing off hand and breaking the trigger without pulling the front sight off target. I get spoiled by "match" triggers all year then when the time comes to shoot the carbine sometimes I squeeze the trigger wait for the bang nothing.Re-align site breath more squeeze finally bang.
