1916 BSA 'Fianna Fail' in need of wood!
Here is my Fianna Fail MkIII that is in dire need of being restored to it's former glory owing to the fact that Bubba got hold of it some time back. Shame, as the forestock number matched the rifle! I placed a post on the WTB forum as well. If anyone has a forestock and upper handguard, please let me know. Much thanks.

Springfield Sporters has walnut forends for around 65 dollars. They are Enfield post 1925 production but would fit your rifle quite well, as the Irish did refit forearms when needed and used parts imported from England for that purpose. It is not uncommon to see a Irish Enfield with either post 1925 wood or even WWI beech replacement wood.. You will need to order the following parts:
1) Forearm Part # 19A
2) Rear Forearm recoil plate Part # 45
3) Front nose cap Part # 1A
4) Forearm rest Part #20
5) Forearm rest spring Part # 21
6) Nose cap nut part # 37
7) Screw, front band front, large head part # 58A
8) Screw, front band rear Part # 57
9) Rear nosecap screw stock nut
10) Hand guard front, used part # 76
Last time I checked Springfield did not have walnut front hand guards; the ones they had were off of Indian DP rifles, were some crappy wood, DP marked and as such were not really correct for your rifle. You might find such a more suitable hand guard at Numrich gun parts.

I am maintaining a data base on Irish Enfields, in fact I am working on something for publication. Could you send me the following details of your rifle
1) Manufacturer and year of action
2) New serial number on action ring, number on bolt if not matching, including letter prefix
3) Lined out serial number on action ring (original number)
4) Date of barrel (located on the left side of the action reinforce)
5) Are the FF markings on the barrel only or on the barrel and action ring?
6) Import marking, if present
If you can send me this, I do not need the last digit of the serial number, but it would be a a help to have all the other data.
Thanks
