    SRS Lookup

    Any details on the following?

Springfield 50/70 Trapdoor S/N 24778. Lock plate dated 1863 and trapdoor dated 1869. It's an Allen conversion.

    Springfield 45/70 Trapdoor S/N 517511. Lock plate dated 1884.

    Thanks

    Made mid-1891
    (1871 numbers 502492-533633 according to Frasca & Hill P.378)
Fiscal Year 1890-91 ended 30. June 1891. 516124 last number for that fiscal year (P.379)
So, assuming steady rate of production and extrapolating from that date:

    2nd week of July 1891.
