colt commando box

a few years ago I purchased a colt commando. The seller said that he bought in through shotgun news in 1963 and he put it in his closet and never shot it. the commando was in like new condition it came in an unmarked kraft box. I got to thinking would it be possible that this could be the original factory shipping box?
