    LEE ENFIELD HT SNIPER SIGHT

    HI
looking for some info on the markings on this no1 mk3 rear sight.
Have been told the T means it is for Lithgowicon HT sniper heavy barrel
but the inside diameter is the same as normal no1 mk3 rear sight,
should it be bigger if meant for heavy barrel.
Any help would be much appreciated
    thanks
    deanb

I'm afraid you've been misinformed. The early sight bases had a transverse locating pin that was tapered, not parallel sided, as in the later bases. The 'T' just means that the hole by it is for a tapered pin (ie the pin will only go in one way).

And yes, the H barrel is of a greater diameter so the bases had to be reamed out to accommodate it.

    Hope this helps a little.
