Inland Sear Question

I have what appears to be a completely correct Inland (S/N:6.3M). The sear is a Type II and is marked with an X on the side. Best guesses as to why? Experimental? I know that some parts were marked with an X at times.

X.I. is Robert Bobbins for Inland, nothing special. Often the I is light or missing from and incomplete stamping.

Sorry, forgot to say the X is on the side, not the top. Rather crude looking X, when compared to the usual X.I.

Brian,

Mine looks more like the first picture. Sort of crude, so wasn't to sure about it.
This just means my newest carbine in all Inland. That makes me happy.
