I bought an M1 Carbine to fill a hole in my collection

I needed an M1icon Carbine to fill a hole in my US Military collection an I purchased this one yesterday, it won't be here for a couple of weeks but here are the photos from the auction. It's a Saginaw Gear rifle. I won't know how many parts are SG untill it arrives but was wondering what you fellas could tell me from these pictures. The stock has IO marked in the sling cut out and the sling looks to be possibly Korean. Of course I don't know the barrel condition either, I can only hope for the best. I paid $525 for it. I hate waiting for rifles to arrive.

Highwood stock is nice. Parts changed, rear sight & type 3 band, suggests a rebuild. When you receive it, look for an import stamp on the barrel.

No matter what, $525 is a really good price.

Great buy. I really like that stock, looks like an IO in sling well. Wonder what those 3 notches in the handguard signify.

Howdy Guts! Welcome over here. It will go well with your retro AR build! I actually prefer shooting my Inland M1icon Carbine to my ARs, but don't tell them on the ARFcom, retro forum!
