    If you can't view the advertisement, it's probably due to the fact that you have to subscribe to the EE (Equipment Exchange) forums on CGN in order to view them, or the ad has been deleted.

    Seller says:

    1942 Long Branch. Nice condition, Bore has some wear, but decent overall. Sling and action cover included.

    Looks like the forend has been severely sanded down- note how the trigger guard is proud of the wood...a lot of wood is missing here. Also the finish is indicative of the original patina having been all sanded off.
    Also, on the first go round of this ad he mentioned a frosted bore but that seems to have been removed.

    Look at the bluing - or lack thereof - on the handguard ring and front handguard cap, compared with the rest of the parts. Front handguard isn't properly fitted. The wood does look sanded. I suspect that the rifle is a restoration, a restocked sporter.
