Difference between Rem. 40X and later40X

First please excuse me for forgetting the model number for the later 40X based on the model 700, as I get loder I can't acess my memory bank as well. Seriously though is one thought to be better than the other in terms of accuracy as with Win. 52D and earlier models such as the C with their magazines instead of a solid receiver or even older ones without the speedlock trigger. I have a second year production 40X and it does just fine enough for me. Would love to get a 52D as my last was stolen from me, had gotten it from CMPicon and their new bunch seems like they will be few in number to say the least.

The 40X is based on the Rem 722 action- The 40XB is based on the Mod 700 short action.

Winchester 52 Cs, Ds, and Es are often thought to shoot better than the Remingtons, as a rule, but I've never seen a definitive study. Remington 37s seem to be in the same league as the Winchesters.
