Slings
Are slings for Type 38 Carbines any different from slings for Type 38 or Type 99 Rifles?
What's the going rate for a decent Type 38 carbine sling?
Thanks,
Jarrod

T-38 carbine slings are about 38-40" in length, tip to tip where as the T-38 sling is about 42-44" . And generally have only one buckle slot and may have a larger buckle then the T-38 rifle sling but not as large as the T-99 slings.
I would say if one is correct would probably run $125-150.
Check here, one is for sale now that might be ok, but ask for the overall length not the length he gives. It looks like it has only one buckle slot but you don't know if the 2nd one was cut off which would shorten the length. The buckle looks to be about the size of a regular T-38 sling. Nothing is always by the book though when it comes to Japanese slings. There has not been a lot written about the slings. A regular T-38 sling would probably run $100-125 so you may not have much to lose if it turns out it's not a real carbine sling. Just a thought, Ray
