    Question Clawson little book value

The first M1911 book I bought was the soft cover edition of Clawson's Collector's guide from 1993. At the time (late 90's) it and the big book were out of print and it cost me $200. Since then I have acquired the big book and I just got a copy of the hard cover Collector's guide from 2003.

Since the hard cover version seems to completely supersede the soft cover one, I no longer have a need for the soft cover one, on the other hand it takes up very little shelf space and it doesn't eat much, so I have no great need to get rid of it either. So it comes down to; is it worth anything as a collector's item in its own right, and I should sell it, or does it have very little value and I should keep it?

I would recommend keeping it, for a couple reasons.

    1) It normally doesn't sell for that much money when they do sell. I paid $20 for the last 2-3 copies I've bought in the last couple years. So you have to ask...is it worth more than that to keep it?

    2) The little paperback has references in it to the 429 page "big" book. While the 3rd Edition supersedes your paperback, it does not have page references to the big book. If you aren't absolutely familiar with the big book and where to find speciifc content, I'd hang onto the little book just for that reason. It may save you some time finding something you know is there...but can't recall where.
