    Seller says:

Thinning out the safe herd to pay for some other projects. Will be listing more later, mostly Russianicon stuff. All prices are shipping and insurance included. Buyers have three day non-firing inspection period. If you want to see pictures, pm me or email elgh@shaw.ca. EMT preferred. Thanks for looking.

    1. Spanish FR-8 Mauser, 7.62 NATO. Matching, with sling and bayonet. Usual condition for these rifles. Shoots very well. $450

    2. WWII Russian Capture Mauser Kar98kicon, originally a 243 code 1938 production. Force matched as usual with electropencil markings. German markings remain. No sight hood. Bore excellent—looks like a “one careful owner, only dropped once” special. This was bought from Armurier du Lac, and is a very nice example. $395

    3. WWII German Kar98k, S147 1936 production, post-war East German redo. Barrel and receiver match, still have all WWII German markings. Bolt, stock, barrel bands, buttplate are carefully and nicely forcematched. Has Czechicon style front sight protector. Excellent condition, nice shooter, bore good, with mild throat erosion. $500

    4. WWII German Kar98k, byf44 production, all matching original numbers on all parts, interestingly has a flat buttplate for a late war production rifle. Has East German star on receiver, swastikas are peened, but it is not restocked or otherwise mucked with—must be an early reissue. Has sight hood and rod. Bore a little dark. Finish on rifle spotty, with some corrosion on barrel exterior--?blood. A very nice, all original WWII production rifle with all its original parts, reissued post war. This is not a Russian capture refinished and randomly assembled from parts jobbie. $550

    5. Israeli conversion of dot 44 Kar 98k, matching, with Israeli issue marks on stock flat. Metal has been cold blued in places, I think. Bore bright, shoots well. $325.

    6. WWII German G98/40 8mm Mauser bolt action rifle. Unusual German rifle, manufactured in Hungaryicon, jhv 43. Based on a pre-war Hungarian rifle design, with German improvements. Has two piece stock, unique bolt design. Issued condition, not a capture piece, bore slightly worn. Bolt mismatched. A rare rifle. $900

    7. WWI German Kar98AZ 8mm carbine, Erfurt 1915. All complete except for stacking hook (usually missing). This rifle is very unusual as it is all matching. Bore worn, but probably a good shooter if you wanted, and a damn nice example of a WWI carbine. $500

    8. Britishicon P14 .303 bolt action rifle, Remington made, matching bolt, very low serial number 008xx. Dark coloured “fat boy” stock, brass butt disk removed by armourer, small repair at toe of stock. Bore is worn, but still shoots quite well. A very nice, collectible piece, with low serial number. $400

    9. British P14 .303 bolt action rifle, Winchester manufacture, matching bolt, thinner style stock, with sling. Still retains its long range dial and pointer set. Stock some issue dings, bore slightly worn, overall very good condition. Unusual star in circle marking on top receiver and on stock. $400

    10. British P14 .303 bolt action rifle, ERA manufacture, matching bolt, “fat boy” stock with minor repair at heel. No long range dial and pointer set. Stock some issue dings, bore crisp, overall very good condition. $400

    11. American M17 .30-06 bolt action rifle, Eddystone manufacture 9/18, US stamped on stock, along with SSA cartouche and another, worn cartouche which is (I think) SA NER. CAI import marked on barrel, along with flaming bomb US issue mark. Bore greasy but rifling crisp. $500

    12. American M17 .30-06 bolt action rifle, Remington manufacture, dated 4/18 on barrel. Stock excellent, metal looks refinished, no issue marks or cartouches. ?Dutch issue. Bore excellent. A very nice rifle. $450

    13. British Lee Metford .303 bolt action carbine (LMC I), Enfield 1894. All complete except for screws to hold on leather rearsight cover. Bolt mismatched, close in number. No issue marks on stock. Metal has light coating of surface corrosion, bore worn as usual. A very rare carbine all complete. $1500

    14. British/Canadianicon Lee Enfield .303 bolt action carbine (LEC I), Enfield 1896. All complete, bolt mismatched, M & D stamped on butt as well as RNWMP. Don’t know if the RNWMP stamp is legit or not, but it is old. Not “in the book” but very close in serial number range. Wood clean, markings crisp, bore good. Very nice, rare carbine. $1850

    15. Canadian issue SMLE Mk III*, Enfield 1918, all matching, wood some armourer repairs, C Broad Arrow marked on receiver. Bore very good. $450

    16. British SMLE MK III, BSA 1909, all matching including nosecap, but front stock has been replaced at some point—magazine cutoff slot is covered up. Light crosshatched vice marks on side of front wood. No FTR marks. I would suspect this as being an “unbubba’d” sporter with a replacement wood except the nosecap matches as well. Bore good. $400

    17. British SMLE .410 single shot shotgun conversion, Ishapore 1944 manufacture. Wood dark, lots of handling marks, action crisp. $175.

    More to come.

    Badger

Pictures would help alot, but the k98az, if truly all matching, even with the missing stacking hook, is very failry priced. Probably wont last long.

Yea, I was thinking the same thing, but I'm getting old and I don't have the energy any more to go chasing a seller who doesn't post pics.

I'm dubious about the flat buttplate on a byf44. Doesn't fit any pattern I will acknowledge.

The 98/40 is a good buy if it's decent.

Only if the item is on the wish list will I chase the seller down. Too often does countless emails and picture requests end up in a full inbox and no gun...

Overall, his prices seem to be very fair, but without pictures how can one know for sure.

I've sold and bought rifles to/from this fellow, he's a nice and honest guy, and is usually pretty good with providing pics upon request.

My buddy had all 3 varients and had to dump them. I really wish he'd contacted me first...

Unless the price is insanely low, I generally pass as well. A couple of times I've jumped in with an unconditional "I'll take it", only to find that the seller "forgot" to mention that it is sporterized , or missing something. I was lucky to be able to resolve it, but it still irked me.

How anyone can post an ad for thousands of dollars worth of firearms, and post nary of pic might be a clue to how well the transaction might go. Certainly hurts the potential for a sale.

I know where two of them went. They're in good hands.
