Thats the right bayonet, but if his rifle is a LongBranch (correct manufacture is actually Small Arms Ltd, or SAL), then a Long Branch bayonet would be the ticket. The squarish S on your bayonet denotes Stevens/Savage manufacture in the US. A LongBranch made bayonet would have a little superimposed LB marking. It is also possible to find post war LongBranch bayonets with the superimposed CA mark for Cdn Arsenals.
Don't be fooled by the mkII designation on the bayonet you show. This is the second version of the #4 bayonet, but was intended for both the #4mk1 and the #4mk1*. The mark 1 version of the bayonet had the cruciform blade.
