    Glad to see someone in Europe enjoying the us of a great military rifle. And your friend, who looks like she works out. Also, good to see you shooting black powder, that's the right suff for that rifle.

    The trapdoor Springfield rifles have a reputation for accuraCY. I recently bought an 1884 model with the improved sights. It shoots into a hand-size group at 100 yds. and I think I can get it shooting way better than that. Springfield Arsenal, like the other armories around the world at that time, was really aware of the long-distance shooting matches and built rifles with that standard in mind. At Springfield, this guy Buffington managed to influence the design of sights for about 30 years. the Buffington sights are the **** for target shooting.Not great battle sights, though. Too fussy, not a great sight picture under adverse conditions.

    OTOH, the world's arsenals in the last half of the 19th century were building rifles you could take to a Palma match and not be embarrassed.
