He is fortunate the impact did not stop his heart. While a vest can prevent bullet wounds, the wearer still absorbs the bullet's energy, which can cause blunt force trauma. The majority of users experience only bruising, but impacts can still cause severe internal injuries

All of those guys involved are real "brainiacs" and shouldn't be allowed to reproduce. But then again, maybe they'll reduce the idiot gene pool by pulling another stunt (hopefully not with guns). You can bet that if the "victim" had died that this would be hyped up in the media as another example of "gun nuts" and what they do.

Once took 2 hits to the chest from a .357 whilst wearing a vest.

Two broken ribs, badly bruised lung. I survived, obviously ( ), but it wasn't a pleasant experience ( ). And it could have been much worse.

Hmmm, Stupid as a sack of hammers, stupid as a pile of rocks all come to mind.

My old dad said he was with some drunk SeaBees when one of the drunks bet a sizeable amount of his pay that he could catch a .45 ACP round in a baseball glove. Another guy took him up on it. The old boy with the .45 was locked and loaded and the guy with the glove had his arm extended when at the last second sanity prevailed.

Quarks, it's a good thing those idiots weren't using a .357 Magnum or that kid might have been dead.
